Weekend Recap

We had a good weekend.  Nothing exciting, just good.

During chores we gathered pairs to feed.  They get checked over really good to make sure all the calves are sucking and healthy.

We took out pairs.

New pair heading out to the pasture.

Saturday J’s folks, T and B, came over for dinner.  J requested Cheesy Chicken Bake.

Sunday we fed some cake, also known as range cubes.  It is a high energy feed supplement and a treat for the cattle.

J feeding the bulls cake.

Bulls LOVE cake.

Molly got a bath on Saturday and  took a Sunday nap in the sunbeam.  It is hard work being a clean little dog.

Roxie helped outside.

With the warm days we have been letting the chickens out.  They can’t get cold feet, you know.  Chickens are fun to watch and take pictures of.

The brown hens are my old girls.  The Black hens and White hens are the pullets that started laying in Jaunuary.

I ended up making Sinful Cherry Chocolate Cake for the township meeting.  That sounded like more fun than the recipe J found.

Sunday afternoon J’s sister came for a short visit and we ate super at T and B’s.  When I got home last night I finished Breaking Dawn, the 4th book in the Twilight series.  I love these books!  Stephenie Meyer’s character development is awesome.

I love reading your posts, keeping up with your busy life! I spent Saturday celebrating National Quilting Day by taking a quilt class to make a very unique wall hanging, will show you when it’s finished. Sunday was church, then laundry/sewing day; then ended with 2 hrs of ironing Tim’s shirts. That was my weekend.

Sounds like you had a fun and relaxing weekend with your sewing machine. I pressed pants last week it took me a little over 2 hours, but I should be good for a month! It is not so bad once I get started. J got me a big press (the equivalent to 7 irons) to do pants with for Christmas a few years ago.

We let our chickens out over the weekend, too. The busy little biddies got into my garden boxes and now half the dirt is all over the place. Oh well … they looked like they were having a blast! Have a great week!
