Wednesday Happenings

I have been in South Dakota for 10 winters (3 while attending college and 7 years of marriage).  I have never seen temperatures any where near the 47 degrees it was last Saturday.  Sunday was in the low 40’s. Monday and Tuesday were very foggy with highs in the low 20’s.

I have come to the conclusion that as long as the weather stays mild, every Saturday is cake day.  Cake for all adult livestock on the ranch!  It is so much easier to feed cake with two people than one.

Last weekend I put an end to the procrastination and pressed pants.  The entire stack of pants!  I know it won’t last long, but yea for me!

I am currently caught up on wrapping gifts.

I have very few Christmas decorations adorning the house.

Molly over stepped her boundaries.  One morning I heard a terrible scream from the entryway.  That night I noticed Molly had a scab on her ear and a scratch inside her ear.  I am guessing Roxie had had enough.

Last week the UPS man came to the door.  J would not let me answer the door.  I wonder why.

The chickens love mild December weather too!  Some days we get 6 eggs, other days we get up to 13 eggs.  ? ? ?

I have had a few comments about the HUGE pictures.  I have been struggling with them since I got my new camera.  I think I got it figured out.  Stick with me, I will get this issue solved so you don’t have computer melt down due to my HUGE pictures.

I lived in Pierre for awhile in my early 20s and the winter was brutally cold that year, ’78-’79. The fellas I worked with said it was the worst winter they could remember! I moved to So Cal shortly thereafter! LOL!!
For my pictures, I use the “Paint” program, open a picture and then resize it. I had to ask when I first started blogging because I had no IDEA how to do it! What kind of camera do you have? I want a new one and have been thinking of a Nikon D3100.

I love the cow photo with the hill in the background. I always think it’s funny that the cows are curious and have to check you out while you’re checking THEM out!
