Thrusday Evening Storm

Thursday we woke up to moisture in the air and heavy dew.  When the fog burned off, it turned hot and humid.  Humidity is not the norm for our part of the country.

J and his folks went to the hay field late afternoon.  They headed home after watching clouds build and lightning start.  J saw two funnel clouds.  Thankfully they stayed in the sky.

After supper we heard the dreaded tink, tink, tink tink of hail.  We are lucky that there was no wind and the stones were somewhat soft.  B’s garden looked a little beat up, but we think the crops are will be okay.

Looking out the window.

Hail stones and a quarter.

After the storm passed we ventured out to see how much rain and damage we had.

1" in the gauge.

The word around our neighborhood was that storm chasers were in the area!  I am glad they didn’t have much excitement to write home about.

The thunder clouds after the storm were something to see.

We continue to be thankful for the moisture.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been hit with damaging wind, hail, tornadoes, and flooding.

Those are some gorgeous pictures of the clouds. Glad the storm wasn’t a terrible one and provided some good moisture.
