The New Window

Last July J spontaneously bought a custom-built bay window on the KBHB Radio Auction.  Several weeks later the Window Guy came to talk about what we wanted.  After looking at our house, the Window Guy told us the house doesn’t have any way to support a bay window.  The good news was he exchanged the bay for a picture window

The weekend before last the carpenter came to install the new window!

Here is a picture of the new window opening.  We opted for a much bigger window.

Here is the new window.  We love all the light and the ability to open it.  Now we can take in the south breeze.

J and I decided this would be a mutual anniversary gift!  It is a wonderful home improvement that we will take pleasure in for years to come.

Oh my gosh I simply love your new windows. I love windows so much . And especially ones you can open. I’m thinking about replacing some in my 50+ year old house but am kind of afraid it will take away the character. I’d love a window over my sink , it’s beside the sink now…on my farm i had a big window over my sink….spent many hours there doing dishes and washing babies and washing clothes at times ……

We’ve been replacing windows in our 100 year old house slowly! I know how exciting it is to get a more efficient window and a bigger view! And we do the same thing…Christmas, Anniversaries, Birthdays they all get spent on the house, it’s a win/win as far as we’re concerned!

Now you will really be able to enjoy the view and the breeze. Nice gift to yourself.
