The Great Wind is Still Blowing

A great wind is blowing, and that gives you either imagination or a headache.
Catherine the Great

I am going to go with the later.  Thursday was a horrible windy day.  Friday we had a decent day with the wind returning after dark.  Saturday’s wind was similar to Thursday and Sunday was slightly less windy.  A little wind in our area is normal; but constant 40+ mph winds with gusts in the mid 60’s is extreme.  Monday the wind seemed worse than the days before.  The radio announced wind gusts over 70 mph to the south of us.

January 21With all this wind J and I do chores and odd house jobs or phone calls.  I got some article editing done, set up a new gmail account and worked on a creative project.

I have been contemplating closing my yahoo e-mail for a while and didn’t want to go through the mess of it.  I’ve had the account since college!  Friday afternoon I took the plunge.  All of our cell phone stuff is through google and I wanted to simplify things with one less account and passwords.  I think I have all the necessary accounts changed and/or synced.  I am sure I will be updating e-mail for a while.  My new address is ranchwiferobyn@gmail.com.

Saturday evening J and I went into Small Town to socialize.  We also watched a little high school basketball.  The Right to Life group served concessions and I had a delicious bowl of chili.  The gals also served sloppy joes, hot dogs and chili dogs.  One might consider it a “date night” since we left the ranch and I didn’t have to cook.

I took full advantage of the true purpose of Sunday afternoon.  Seems like I have been keeping busy, pushing myself and staying up a little too late.  After dinner J took in the football game and I crashed on the couch.  I am a fan of the 20 minute relax after dinner concept.  Sunday was a full-out zonked out nap.  I felt better when I got up and had more energy today.

Unpredictability is the spice of life and I am off on an impromptu adventure.  I will fill you in on more details later.

I hope your week is off to a great start.

When its real windy out, my ears hurt and I get hungry! ha!
I love a good nap on the couch. That’s what we did Sunday also, after we fed cows. Watched the football games, ate sausage a neighbor made and napped. It felt good. I always feel guilty when I just sit on my butt and relax. My mind still turns with all the stuff I should/need to be doing. But ya know what? It all was still there the next day! 🙂
Cant wait to hear about your adventure.

We’ve had some bad winds here too – you can def tell on the north side of the house – but nothing like 60/70 mph! Yikes! Stay warm up there, and I’m glad you’re relaxing a bit!

It has been windy here in the hills for most of the winter. That is one of the reasons why I didn’t want to live on the prairie. It is certainly giving me a headache. I so feel bad for the animals that have to deal with it every day. Good luck on your adventure. Everyone needs an adventure every now and again.

Love your photo of the cattle. They look cold! Can’t wait to hear about your adventure.
