Spring Time?

The chickens like to walk and peck around for yummy in my tummy goodies.  I toss them all my table scraps, fruit and vegetable peelings.  I enjoy watching them be chickens.

Since The Rancher and I have gotten our smartphones we feel like kids with a favorite toy.  J was listening to the local Ag Radio Station on his phone during chores last weekend.  See it tucked next to his ear and under his winter hat on an April morning?

What I did this week: Chores, calf cows, skirt work, blogging, organizing and farming.  Thursday we finally experienced spring like weather.  Friday J did some farming and Saturday finished planting oats.

These cows are ready for some yummy in my tummy green grass and sunshine.  Green prairie hay will have to do for a little while longer.

Here are a few more pictures from the photo session Fritz and I had.  She loves anything cow or camera related!

Its nice to have some warmer tempts and not be bundled up like an Eskimo to do chores.  I have the house windows open and am enjoying the songs of little birds.  We still have a few cows left to calf and are thinking about branding.  I hope spring is here to stay.

Fritz is so cute and your husband looks like he is enjoying the ride too (rough way to have to do chores.)

  2. Adorable pic of your rancher! what sort of programs are on AG Radio? weather? pricing & sales (commodities)? what a multi-tasker! Always enjoy your photos of your animals. The chicken’s feathers are so white…

  3. Janis says:

Great photos to match the word prompts this week.

  4. Lynne says:

Awww… what a great photo essay of Fritz! I love how you did this. So is your snow all gone since you were planting oats? I hope your spring is here to stay.

    • Robyn says:

Our snow is gone and the little flurries we had pass through this week didn’t last long. To be honest, it’s dusty again and we could use a rain.

  5. Sandra says:

I love the cows in waiting! Great picture.

  6. Each time I visit I can see how dedicated you are to Ranch Life. The shot with the cows/snow is lovely and Fritz the Cow Dog is way to cute!

  7. Candy C. says:

Fritz is such a cutie and she does look like she’s hamming it up for the camera! 🙂
I keep thinking I should upgrade to a smart phone but haven’t yet…

    • Robyn says:

When you upgrade, Candy, you will wonder why you waited so long. I went 9 years without a cell phone as we didn’t have coverage on the Ranch. It didn’t bother me not to have a phone and I drug my feet on the Smartphone too. I have to admit, I really do enjoy it.

  8. Bonnie says:

Black cows and white chickens, funny. I too have not enjoyed to cool weather. I hope it warms up.

It’s so hard to believe all that snow this late. Of course, Fritz is my favorite this week!
