South Dakota State Fair

The Alabama concert at the South Dakota State Fair was excellent! Lead singer, Randy Owen, said the band hadn’t played in our state for twenty years. Alabama sounded the same as they do on the radio and recordings. The crowd sang along with every song except two or three new releases.

September 4Saturday J, Mark and I walked around the fair. We meandered through the open class cattle barn and took in the trade show. All of enjoyed watching the small square bale demonstration.

September 4

J and I ran into and visited with people from college. It’s nice to catch up with classmates we haven’t seen for years. It would have been fun to spend more time at the fair.

We saw the Royal White Bengal Tiger display, but missed the the show they put on.

September 4We are hauling hay and hay hauling. We can start to see that we are making a little progress on this huge project. All the bales around home are hauled except for two loads. It seems I stacked them in a low spot and it’s still a little damp to drive through. We got moved south and I cracked open gathering bales on “the field that never ends.”

Wish us continued good luck!

Good luck getting the last of the hay in – and it looks like you got to see some neat things at the fair!

I am beyond jealous that you saw Alabama!! They are going to be playing Vegas for two days in December during the NFR, but we leave the morning of their first concert. I was crushed! 🙁 Hopefully, they’ll make their way back to the Midwest sometime soon!

Those tigers are beautiful! Love the pink paws.
    Keep the hay coming! 🙂
