1 pkg. Marshmallows (BIG marshmallows preferred)
1 Chocolate Cake Mix
1 Can (21 oz.)Cherry Pie Filling
1 pkg. (3 oz.) Cherry Jell-O
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare a deep dish 9 X 13 inch cake pan. The recipe card warns CAKE MAY RUN OVER PAN! So, I put a parchment lined cookie sheet under the cake pan. Lucky for me the cake did not run over.
Layer a bag of marshmallows on bottom of pan. I had no marshmallows in the house, so I borrowed some from J’s Mom, B. All B had on hand were these pretty star shaped marshmallows. FUN!
Mix cake mix as on package directions and pour over marshmallows.
Fold together Pie Filling and Jell-O; pour over cake batter.
Bake 50 minutes.
Cool, cut and serve. Top with cool whip, nuts, ice cream or drizzle with Carmel.
The marshmallows float to the top and cherry mix sinks to the bottom while mixing with the cake batter. This is good stuff, invite your friends over to share!
