Seasonal Blessings

We are just catching our breath from all the Christmas excitement.  We had a wonderful celebration with J’s family.  The only sad thing was J’s Sister and her family got sick and could not be home with us.  Darn flu bug!

J and I hosted Christmas Eve Supper.  We invited over a neighbor couple,  J’s folks and Grandma filled the dinning room.  We ate shrimp, homemade potato wedges, salad, veggies and Crusty Bread.  J’s Mom made Shrimp Dip and I made Chipped Beef Cheeseball for appetizers.  We had an abundance of sweets to eat too.  It was a fun evening.

Christmas Day we headed over to Miss B’s house for dinner.  She cooked turkey with all the fixings for our extended family and a few neighbors.  We played games, played cards and visited with full tummies.

The last few days have been cold!  Our highs were in the low single digits.  It came without wind and we have had a few flurries.  We received just enough fresh snow to add to the magic of Christmas.  Sounds like we they are calling for a warming trend.  Temperatures in the mid to upper 20’s will be a heat wave.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas.  This is the special time of year to celebrate the birth of Christ with family and friends.  May we continue to be thankful for all we are blessed with.

Man, it seems like it’s been awhile since I’ve visited. Your photos are great. I’ve heard the flu is going around and I’m crossing my fingers that we don’t get it. I wish you a happy and healthy new year.

I’m glad you had a good Christmas, Robyn! Our daughter and granddaughter had colds. I feel one coming on now, but it was definitely worth it to spend time together. We had to have our son to the airport for a 6 AM flight yesterday. Again, it was worth getting up at 3 AM to have him home for a few days! Hope you avoid the crud! I love that top photo. What a great winter shot!
