With our computer problems from last week I am off on my posts.  This week my blogging will be a little off again.  I am taking a few days to visit my folks in Nebraska.  Be patient, my regular scheduled blogging should return soon.  In the mean time, I am playing catch up on picture editing and trying to organize my thoughts.

Not to be a broken record, but we are taking advantage of the nice weather.  Friday afternoon J borrowed a scale from the neighbor.  We were curious what the calves weigh and neither one of us are confident in our guessing ability.  We got the scale set up and a few test weights.  Saturday morning we ran calves across the scale.

Friday, we moved bunks around.  With the nice temps the area around the bunks is a bit sloppy.  Saturday we transferred pellets.  I have to admit, transferring pellets is one of my least favorite jobs.  There is so much that can go wrong!  I was glad to see J’s Dad show up to help with this project.

I had intentions to join the Winter Nurture Photo challenge with Kristi at Live and Love Out Loud and Rebecca at Bumbles and Light.  Last week didn’t work out and this week I am a little behind.  Better late than never and we will see what next week holds.  The first week’s prompt was Black or Shadow and Friday’s prompt was White or Minimalism.

Today J went to a neighbor’s Angus Bull sale.  I am editing pictures and baking bread.  I should do a little packing too.  The winter storm we were expecting turned into a rather windy day.  No snow for us.

I hope you are having a great weekend!

  2. I wish I could spend a few days choring with you, I know there are things we light and dislike about our lives, but it would be a delight! Even though it is harsh condition, I love the blowing snow across their black faces… hope you have a safe enjoyable trip to NE. Do you ever stop and visit with Nancy in Blair? That would be fun! Thank you for sharing on Weekly Top Shot #69!

      Madge,

If you ever plan a trip to South Dakota let me know. I would love to have you come for a visit.

No, I have not visited Nancy. If we take the back roads, she is on the way to visit my Sister. I will have to giver her a call next time Mom and I take a trip to Iowa.

The black and white cattle are perfect for both weeks! I love the way the snow looks in the first shot, but I’m glad I’m not the one out working in it. Hope your travels are safe and fun.

  7. You are one busy lady! Looks like it’s freezing cold out there! Love the tufts of hair in the second photo!
