What a busy week!
The Hubby has been working his fingers to the bone. Last weekend he helped the neighbors wean and work calves and BC (Big Cousin) sort cattle. There was plenty of help, so I dedicated my weekend to cooking, baking, and blogging. I made my first ever pumpkin roll! More on that later.
J and his Dad spent Monday and Tuesday getting ready to wean calves.
Wednesday I stayed home to help wean and work calves. It was a little brisk gathering cattle on the 4-wheeler, but the day was perfect for working cattle.
Thursday the crew came over to work our cows. Two big jobs done!
This morning my Cowboy is headed over to BC’s to work his cows.
No snow at our house … yet. The weatherman is talking a good chance on Saturday. I am not ready for snow; really I am not! We have been blessed with a beautiful fall, why spoil it now?
Saturday is the annual CFEL Christmas Fair. I am taking pie for the lunch stand and working the noon hour shift. The Fair is open to homemade craft items and is a wonderful community event. Look for a blog post next week.
Another thing I am NOT ready for is turning back the clocks. I am good with getting up in the dark. What I don’t look forward to is the long evenings. You see, in our area winter means it gets dark at 4:30. Yes, 4:30 in the afternoon … dark! My Cowboy dislikes early darkness more than I do. At least we can be thankful for fast Internet, dish network, and Ag related newspapers.
Hope you have a great weekend!
