Nature Photo Challenge ~ Brown

Between the drought and late fall, brown is not a hard color to photograph.  There are many shades of brown, from the light color of tumble weeds to the dark remnants of sunflowers.

“The milkweed pods are breaking,
And the bits of silken down
Float off upon the autumn breeze
Across the meadows brown.”

~ Cecil Cavendish, The Milkweed

Beauty can be brown.  This feather is delicately colored in natural shades.

Even the sheep find some useful grazing amidst the brown dormant grass from summer.

“Autumn is a season followed immediately by looking forward to Spring.”

Love the feather, it looks like a hawk feather! That last quote cracks me up! 🙂

Thanks Candy. I think hawk too. This morning it’s in the high 20’s, fog, wind, rainy and things are ice covered. Makes the last quote come alive!

I agree, the feather is a great shot! I love the sheep, also – and as always, I love photos of cows!
