Mom’s Cat and Draft Horses

This is Mom’s cat.  She was a stray that found her way to my folks’.  She is a friendly cat, but don’t press her buttons.  She will swipe when she gets a belly full of little dogs barking at her.

I am always mesmerized by draft horses.  They are so huge, their eyes so kind, their feet so big.  When I walked by the stall of this horse, at the State Fair, the owner had the door open and a rope across the front.  I think this guy was kind of a character.  I stood and watched him play with the feed can lid.  He desperately wanted to remove the lid and discover what was in the container.

The  mare on the left was getting prepared for the evening Draft Horse Wagon Show.  She got a bath, mane braided and hooves polished before being hitched up.

The picture on the right was a mare being shown at the Draft Horse Halter Show.

J and the neighbors started chopping corn at our house!  With good luck our crop should be in by tomorrow morning.

Draft horses are neat. And so graceful in spite of their size.

Classic cat doing her classic cat poses! Sweet!
There is a farm with Shire draft horses a couple of miles from where I live. I’m totally captivated by them. I haven’t focused as much on their faces as you have with these. Their size and the fur above their hooves is amazing.
