Mixed Media Art

In January of 2016 I enrolled in Jodene’s One Day On-Line Art Class. The following pieces were done as part of the class.

These are the statements I included in the wood block pieces below:

One day she understood the lessons she had learned helped her become the woman she is today.

One day she decided to act on faith instead of fear.

One day she decided to hang on to faith and trust in the Lord.

Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid of tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you, He will not fail you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6, is the Bible verse on the wood block below.

The collage below is my “sticks and stones” project. It reads: Thou wilt make known to Me the path of life; In Thy presence is fullness of joy; In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11

Final One Day project. Colossians 3:12-13 reads “As those have been choose of God, holy and beloved, put on the heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, bearing with one another and forgiving each other, just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.”

One project was to decorate a journal cover. I later went back and did a collage on the back cover of the journal.

This collage was done as a bonus project for One Day. This collage has a lot of very personal meanings to me. It’s on 12 x 12 inch canvas.

The collage below is my first custom piece. A friend asked me to make this for her to hang as decor in her home. She gave me the elements that she wanted included on the 20 x 20 inch canvas.

The collage below is my second custom piece. A friend asked me to make this for her Aunt as a gift. Since I had all my stuff out and felt creative I made two. She gave me the elements that she wanted included on the 6 x 6 inch wood blocks.
