Some of these pictures are from the art class Jodene Shaw, White Owl Wings, taught in June and some are from the class she did at Women In Ag. None of these art pieces were made by me, but I did enjoy taking pictures of them.
Last week I read Emily P. Freeman’s book Simply Tuesday. Emily’s ideas about how to recognize, and appreciate, the small moments in our fast moving lives is something we all need to be aware of and make time for.
“What if, instead of thinking we have to choose between our ordinary life and an extraordinary life, we begin to realize they’re the same thing?” ~Emily P freeman, Simply Tuesday.
“It’s in the small moments that life is truly lived.” ~Marion Roach Smith, The Memoir Project
“If it’s true what Marion Roach Smith Says, that small moments are where life is truly lived, then we have to count all the small moments, not just the pleasant ones. The days also have small moments of rejection, humiliation, disappointment, regret, misunderstanding, heartache, and pain. These are our moments too. How we define “small moments” is crucial to seeing, embracing, and learning from our whole life, not just the pretty parts. Those small moments can offer hints of a greater reality just like the lovely ones do. But in these it can be harder to find.” ~Emily P freeman, Simply Tuesday.
“… home should be the safest place on earth to take a risk.” ~Emily P freeman, Simply Tuesday.
“… home is a Person we bring with us rather than a destination we’re trying to find.” ~Emily P freeman, Simply Tuesday.
“True smallness is an invitation to live as I was meant to live, to accept my humanity, and to offer my ability and my inability, my sin and my success, my messes and my masterpieces into the hands of God.” ~Emily P freeman, Simply Tuesday.
May you find joy and peace in the everyday ordinary Tuesday’s of life. Life is made of small moments that fill our days. Days that add up to weeks that fly by. Take a moment to stop and notice the autumn colored leaves, wispy clouds upon a deep blue sky and the beautiful sunset. Pet the barn cat and the neighbors aging yellow lab. Hug those you love and let your friends know how much they mean to you.
