Life’s Treasures

Molly and I got home from Nebraska yesterday afternoon.  We had a good trip and enjoyed spending time with Mom and Dad.  I also got to see some family, friends and neighbors.  Spending time at home is a treasure in my life.  I will always enjoy being spoiled by Mom and riding around looking at and talking cattle with Dad.

I am trying to catch up on blogging and hope to get my Nebraska pictures downloaded soon.  J says the weather is going to turn cold this week.  That means picture editing, blogging and baking could be in my near future!

This week’s Scavenger Hunt pictures are from when our friends came to visit the first weekend in February.  They perfectly fit this week’s prompts.

Miss L thinks J is as sweet as candy and J feels the same about her.  It was really fun to watch the kids play with J’s beard.  They were fascinated.

Miss L is all about pink!  I have to admit, I love her attire!

Sir G and Miss L share brother and sister love.  It’s fun to watch them play and share.  I am sure there are moments of “tough love,” but they left that at home the weekend they were visiting.

A mother’s love is priceless and full of kisses and smiles.

The kids were all smiles when it came to chickens.  They couldn’t wait to see and feed the hens.  We even gathered and egg or two.  Not all the eggs made it to the house in one piece, but we don’t cry over broken eggs around here.

I didn’t get any foodie pictures, but need to share a couple of recipes that you really should try.  I found a Buffalo Chicken Dip in my Food Network Magazine that was yummy.  Side note ~ I used Louisiana Supreme Chicken Wing Sauce and shredded Monterey Jack Cheese vs. Cheddar.

The other BIG HIT new recipe I tried was Pecan Pie Cheesecake from Tales of a Kansas Farm Mom.  It was awesome!

We are blessed with wonderful friends and enjoy the time we get to spend together.  Great friends, fun times and children are treasures we don’t take for granted.

We do have a great time together. It’s kind of funny; when the camera comes out so do the smiles.

Mom and I made the Pecan Pie Cheesecake while I was home visiting. It was a hit … again!

They are truly ‘life’s treasures’ and so cute and so is the cute man with the beard ^_^

    • Robyn says:

I will have to tell J some of my readers find him cute! We will start calving soon and off will come the beard.

It is amazing how many people don’t recognize him in public with the beard. Each year he grows one it gets thicker and fuller.
