I  have been nominated for the Liebster Blog Award by Jamie at This Uncharted Rhoade and Jessy at EastWestern.  Thank You Jamie and Jessy for the nominations!

A year ago I was nominated for the Versital Blogger Award  by Deborah at Deborah Jean’s Dandelion House.

 Questions from Jamie
1. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging as a creative outlet and to share what real life is like on a cattle ranch.

2. If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

3. If you could have the perfect day, doing anything at all, what would you do?

I would spent the entire day with my Mom and sister doing fun girl stuff.

4. What would your dream car (or truck) be?

I am not to picky about vehicles.  If it’s dependable and gets me where I need to go I am good.  At the moment, my 4-wheeler is a dream vehicle come true.

5. What’s your favorite type of music?

I like Classic Rock.  The classics that are now being considered the new oldies.

6. What one thing would you be completely lost without?

My computer!

7. What’s your biggest pet peeve?

Every time I step outside my nose starts to drip or run.  It’s a never-ending annoyance.

8. Are you an early bird or a night owl?

I am an early bird.  Always have been and always will be!

9. What was your favorite gift you received last Christmas?

Christmas of 2012 … J’s parents gave us each a set of electric hand warmers for our 4-wheelers.  Now, if I could get J to put it on my 4-wheeler so I can use it.

10. Mayo or Miracle Whip?

Neither, I am a spicy mustard girl.

11. If had to live out the rest of your life as an animal, what would you be?

A house dog.  Miss Molly makes life look so easy.

Here are the answers to Jessy’s questions.

1. It’s an oldie, but a goodie – describe yourself with three words.

Organized, emotional & deep thinker.

2. What book are you currently reading (or the last one, if you’re not currently reading anything!)

Ravenscraig by Sandi Krawchenko Altner

3. Which season is your favorite?

Spring.  I love new life … cattle, lambs, green grass, flowers, blooms and tree buds.

4. Why do you live where you do? What makes it so special?

I have lived on this ranch for 8 ½ years and my husband grew up here.  When we were first married we had the opportunity to move home and pursue our ranching dreams.

5. Do you have any animals?

We raise cattle.  We also have a few laying hens and barn cats.  Our pets are a Boston Terrier house dog, Molly, and a cattle dog, Fritz.  A little over a month ago we lost our good cow dog, Roxie.

6. Do you make New Year’s resolutions, or just goals (please share any you’re working towards!)

Instead of resolutions I decided to continue working on my 51 in 501 goals.

7. Do you value “me” time, or do you surround yourself with as many people as possible?

I am an introvert.  I prefer being in a small group situation as opposed to being around a crowd of people.

8. What did you want to be when you were little?

Even as a little kid my dream was to raise cattle.  Dad even commented on that when I was home.

9. What value do you find in blogging?

I don’t consider myself a creative person, but I love to write and enjoy photography.  Through my blog I can share my passion for agriculture and the beauty around me.

There are a lot of neat people with amazing stories blogging about their life.  These people inspire me with their ideas, words and photographs.

10. Sweet tooth or salt tooth – which one do you have?!

I am a heavy salt user with a sweet tooth.  I will usually look for chocolate first!

11. If you could master one skill, what would it be?

Photography.  I like taking pictures and am motivated by photography bloggers.  I would love to consistently capture stunning shots.

Robyn thank you so much I really enjoyed learning more about you and Congratulations on the well deserved award.
I now have over 200 followers and am grateful you nominated me but I am hoping you can pass this on to some other deserving blogger, I find my life is so crazy busy this time of year I will not be able to give this award the attention it deserves. Thank you so much for thinking of me and I will be dropping by all the blogs you mentioned. Hugs B

  2. Candy C. says:

Thanks Robyn! As a past recipient of the Liebster and now having over 200 Followers (Wow!), I’m also going to have to decline.
I can think of no-one more deserving of this special award than you!! Congratulations!! 🙂

    • Robyn says:

      Buttons and Candy,

Thanks for the nice compliment and being faithful readers!

I wasn’t sure if you were at the 200 mark or not. To be honest, I might be over also. I haven’t taken the time to check my stats for awhile.

  3. Thanks so much for the nomination! I will pass it along as soon as we recover from the latest round of snow and ice.

  4. J. Rhoades says:

Love this! I love your answers and questions, as we’ve previously discussed I think we are quite alike in some ways! My nose is always running as well, mostly because I’m always cold. It does get annoying! For what it means, I think your photographs are amazing already, but I suppose there is always room for improvement!

  5. Love that I get to know you better… how heart breaking to have lost your babies… I am so sorry for that.

  6. Tracey of HaikuYouDo says:

Well, what a nice post for my first visit to get to know you! Congrats on the award. I too have suffered miscarriages and it is not easy. Sorry that you have had to live through that.

    • Robyn says:

Tracey, I can’t leave comments on your blog, but enjoy your photography!
Miscarriages are hard, but they are a part of life. I have not mentioned them on my blog as I am not sure how to “start” the conversation. Thank You for sharing that you understand.

  7. Carol says:

Really wonderful photography ~ fascinating to me and very creative shots! ^_^

    • Robyn says:

I wish we had some of your snow as we need the moisture.
I am glad you enjoy my blog and following our way of life. If you ever have questions, please feel free to ask.

  8. Janis says:

Congratulations on your well deserved award!
So many questions, so many wonderful answers!
    Have a glorious week!

    • Robyn says:

You do get points for creative fencing!

I do the 8 pm heifer check. The other night as I was walking back to the house there was a bull in the yard. The Rancher and I put him in the corrals and went for a moonlit ride. The fence around the bull pasture was up and good. We have no idea how he got to the yard. Our best guess is a flat footed fence clearing jump. The Rancher now calls the bull Houdini!

  9. Congrats on the nomination! I enjoyed reading more about you. I totally agree with you on the chocolate haha. I love all your photos, especially the last one of the chickens.

Visiting from the Rurality Blog Hop!

  10. Teresa says:

Congratulations on your award. I love that picture of the chickens.

  11. Karen says:

Robyn, I love this – congratulations on your award! I love visiting your blog – reading about your ranch and seeing your wonderful photos. It was fun to learn more about you – we share some of the same likes and interests (Larry McMurtry, mastering photography, what we like about blogging). Thanks so much for nominating me. I’m still trying to decide if I’ll have the time right now, but am very honored that you thought of me. Thanks!

  12. A Ranchwife's Slant says:

Robyn, thank you so much for nominating me! I’m unfamiliar with this award but it’s a great idea. We have been really busy with calving going on right now but I wrote down your questions and I will get my answers to you but I may be one of the last to reply. I will have to research whom I can nominate, because as I’m sure you’ve noticed, I am getting further and further behind on keeping updated on my posts! I will get to it, I just may be slow in response. Love ya! and thank you for your nomination! Amy

    • Robyn says:

Hope calving is going good. We have over a dozen babies on the ground. I know we need rain, but it sure is nice to calf when it’s nice out.

We have talked about your blogging. I think you do fine. It can be a challenge to find time and energy to put together good posts when you are a busy Ranch Wife. You have writing jobs also.

I will enjoy your Liebster post whenever you get to it.

Did you hear Katie Pinke is coming to Women in Ag this fall! Kari and Jona are excited to see you again.

  13. Thank you for joining in ‘Rurality Blog Hop #4’ Hope to see you next Wednesday for #5…
