Happy Birthday Grandma

Today I want to wish my Grandma a very Happy 93rd Birthday!

Grandma has many roles in life:

My Grandma is a mother to 1 daughter and 5 sons.  21 people call her Grandma, 25 can say she is their Great-Grandma and 4 Great-Great Grandma.

Sister –  Grandma grew up with 2 older sisters and a younger brother.  She still has one sister to remember the good old days with.

Farm Wife – Grandma and Grandpa raised Berkshire hogs.  Grandpa worked for the Rail Road leaving Grandma home to tend the livestock and kids.

Teacher – After High School Grandma got her teaching certificate and taught for many years.  She has also taught several of her Granddaughters and a Great-Granddaughter how to sew.

Care Taker – While raising kids and hogs Grandma also saw after her aging and sick in-laws.  Grandpa was diagnosed with cancer in the late 70’s and Grandma cared for him at home.

Seamstress – Grandma spent countless hours sewing clothes for her children.  Her real passion in life is piecing quilts, which she still does today!

Crocheting is another of Grandma’s talents.  She has made a lot of dresses for Barbie Dolls, hats for cancer victims and afghans.

Grandma has played many roles in her life and continues to be the at the heart of our family.  She has many stories to tell and lots of love to share.
