Five Little Thoughts

For Random 5 Friday I am going to share a few thoughts with prompts from the Simple Woman’s Day Book.

Outside my window… cattle are waiting to be fed.  The cold didn’t set the calves back they are healthy and growing.  It’s fun to go read bunks in the afternoon and watch them jump, buck and play.

I am thinking… I have too many things on my mind.  I am brainstorming about article topics for my next magazine deadlines, processing some of the interesting blog posts I have read lately and wondering what to make for dinner.

I am thankful… for The Rancher.  Yesterday, I read a quote that made me think about us … “Wherever we go, I want to go with you.”  J and I are a family, business partners, co-workers and friends.  We have over come many challenges to get where we are today; we will face more hardships in the future.  At the same time, we have had some really fun times and made a few great memories.  “Grow old with me, the best is yet to be.” ~Robert Browning

In the kitchen… Comfort food has been on the menu.  We have enjoyed chicken noodle soup and pizza this week.  J’s Auntie made these for Christmas treats and J requested I make them too.

I am wearing… many layers of chore clothes.  It takes me forever to get bundled up to go outside, but I usually stay warm.

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend!

Love your random 5. It takes a strong relationship to be with someone 24/7. Good times and bad times. Sometimes I just wanna ring Cameron’s neck! I just take a DEEP breath, turn my back, muster up a smile and say, “love you”! LOL! Then we giggle. 🙂 It gets rough, REAL rough at calving time. Lack of sleep and good food is usually what causes that. I wouldn’t change who I’m with or what I do for anything in this whole world! 🙂

Yes all the layers are so much work, but well worth it.

  7. Oh you and J are probably perfect together, you both seem to have the same goals and work ethics. I hope this year you are free from any major troubles and that your business continues to grow and flourish. Stay safe & warm!!

Brrr…..it sure looks cold where you are! Love your “thankful” paragraph especially.
    Thanks for visiting today!

Love your first photo of the cattle all looking your way. Your little pup is getting big!

  10. Hope the weather turns better for you as they say it will, Robyn. I was so bundled up the other day for my jog, I could barely move. Sort of defeated the purpose. 🙂

Those last two pictures are my favorites. Earlier this week it was truly cold here-highs in the 20s which is highly unusual. I did agree that it was truly cold at those temps. Yesterday it was almost 80.

You look so cold! I’ll be checking out some of those links later! Have a good week!

  13. Adore all your cow pictures.

    And your pup.

I lack cows and pups right now. I need cows and pups in my life. For now, I shall live vicariously through you.

  14. Doing some catch up, trying to stay warm here with some down time on the couch with a blanket. We have three heat sources going – two wood stoves burning non-stop & our off-peak electric furnace, and it’s still chilly in the house!
I missed this post before, and really love the sentiment for your husband. That is one of my favorite quotes, I really do believe it – the best is yet to be.
