Barn Quilt

While walking through the educational and commercial display building at the State Fair Mom and I spotted the quilt room.  We didn’t take the time to walk through the entire room, but spotted this beauty from the door.

A barn quilt!  The lady watching over the room said that these are actual barns from a county in the Sandhills of Nebraska.  The blocks were painted with acrylics.  Yes, each barn was painted, from a picture, onto the quilt blocks.

I should have gotten a picture of the entire quilt.  It was stunning!

Due to my fondness of flags I had to share this quilt too.

Very nice quilt! I can’t imagine painting it with acrylics though… amazing to do that on the quilt! I have seen appliqued ones – this one is very pretty and a LOT of work!
