August, a month of checking cattle and making sure all the bulls are with the cows and working. At the end of the month we pulled bulls off the cows and brought them home.

August, a month to do a couple of crafty projects. Dad’s Brother, LW, had a birthday the beginning of the month and Dad has an early September birthday. I embellished some of my glitter jars and took them to my cousin to sell at a craft fair. I also took her a box of greeting cards, journals and mouse pads featuring my photography. Nervously excited to see how my photo products sell.

Sorry we missed you. The pictures were good. Your mom must have won, tried to call her but no answer. Anxious to see your things you made, Carm had some pictures. Love

Mom said you had lots of weekend plans. The sheep did OK; Mom and Dad won herdsmanship.

Mom has my box of goodies to give Carm. You will have to let me know what you think.

Lots of love to You and Uncle too!

  2. Looks like a great month! And it appears your Mom’s sheep did well too! 🙂

It was a fun weekend at the State Fair. It does the heart good to spend time with family and catch up with friends.

Those are some healthy looking cattle you’ve got there! Sounds like you’ve definitely been busy! August here meant baling 4th cutting hay (finally got some dry!), filling silo, and the start of school. Our oldest started college this year…how did that happen? I didn’t think I was that old!

You’ll have to let me know how the craft fair went! Our state fair is next month. We will go at least one day. Randy plans to work in the Kansas Wheat booth. That’s the same day of the Master Farmer/Homemaker activities, too. But all of that is contingent upon not getting called to serve on a district court jury. I didn’t for next week. We’ll see what the rest of the month brings!

  6. Aunt Linda says:

Glad the fair was fun and you got to meet David! I am sure that your Mom was glad to have you and Micky there to share the show duties and to see you two together!

  7. Bonnie says:

Glad they did good at the fair. My nieces showed pigs and sheep. They had fun. Glad you had time to enjoy the fair.
