An Old Car

Outside my window… it’s a brisk morning with a temp in the low 30’s. Rosie is ready to do chores, my two bum calves are hungry and the chickens are sitting on their roost. Today J and I are working on putting up windbreak around the new waterer and rehanging gates.

I am thinking… this blog post from my friend Jodi is an excellent message about how carving pumpkins is like our Christian journey.

I am thankful… for good reads! My current book is a true story about Genevieve Patrick and her challenges with Multiple Sclerosis in the 1930’s-40’s. Genevieve:Based on a True Story of Pain, Perseverance, and Triumph by Mary Laurienti and Jerry Laurienti.

In the kitchen… Chili, Roast Beef and leftovers made up our dinners so far this week. Chow Mein is on the menu for today and Friday “planned leftovers” (Beef Drip Sandwiches). On the sweet side: Pumpkin Crunch, Chocolate Crunch Cookies and Chocolate Covered Peanuts.

I am wearing… a scarecrow costume for Halloween. J and I are going to a neighbor’s for a potluck and costumes are required. I think it will be kind of fun.

We don’t get trick or treaters at our house, but this year, we’ll be in Topeka. Kinley will be a kitty cat and Brooke is a pea in a pod. We will get to see some other goblins at Kinley’s preschool parade. I will leave the costumes to the kids, but Randy got a Duck Commander beard and is taking his duck call. It should be fun! Happy Halloween, Robyn!

I want to see pictures of your costumes! Mark and I are going as Red Riding hood and the Big Bad Wolf – I can’t wait!!

I wish we got trick or treaters. My parents live out in the boonies and they have had as many as 50 kids. When we lived in Lead… A big fat 0. We get more living out in the woods and that is our neighbors 2 kids. Oh well. Have fun at your party. I can’t wait to drive down to see Deadwierd. That is always fun.

Where in the heck do you find time to cook all those awesome sounding dinners?
