Yea for long weekends! Between traveling and working cattle I greatly appreciated a few quiet days at home. I did some baking. Bread, bars … and more ice cream! I promise to post the recipe next week. I did some cleaning. I did some laundry… washing and pant pressing. I helped J move cows on Monday morning. I talked to Mom and Sister on the phone and edited pictures.
While at the State Fair the open class poultry show was going on … in the same building. Sheep and poultry can make a lot of noise. There were 4 of these turkeys singing all day long!
We were also stalled near the birthing center. I couldn’t help but take a few early morning pictures.
The Open Class and 4-H Dairy Cattle were also showing. I took these pictures after the Open Class Dairy show. Looks like these beauties had a long day.
The sheep barn had a row of pens with different breeds of sheep in them. This is an Icelandic sheep.
I must brag just a little. Sister and her Husband raised the Grand Champion 4-H Market Lamb at this year’s Nebraska State Fair. They also raised the Champion Lightweight Market Lamb at the State Fair FFA Show.
How was your Labor Day Weekend?
