A Day of Silence

Saturday I received an e-mail from a fellow blogger saying that many bloggers will be observing a day of silence to show respect for those affected by last Friday’s tragedy in Connecticut.   Dec 17

Like many of you I am saddened and disturbed by this latest event.  I think it’s important to realize that the individuals that commit these types of horrific crimes are few and far between.  Our news media plays a huge part in glorifying these people and the terrible acts they carry out.  I often wonder if these criminals would not cause such tragedy if the American public were not glued to the television.

Let’s focus on the stories of the victims, the teachers who protected their students, the people who helped get children to safety and the professionals that will help the surviving school children deal with this experience.

I also believe that people kill people and guns are a tool to carry out their plan.  Most gun owners are responsible law-abiding people.  Those that want to hurt others will do so and get the materials they need no matter what the law says.

Here are two fellow Farm/Ranch Wife Bloggers that wrote excellent posts.

Val Wagner is a mother of four boys and asks Is God In Our Schools?  “they (her sons) know that they can talk to Him at any point in time. There isn’t a doorway, a set of rules or a lecture that can take Him out of their heart.”

Dairy Carrie makes a confession about her imperfect faith and the strong love she has in her heart.  Read more about her take on Choosing Faith

I send prayers of healing, faith and hope to those in Connecticut.  May those who have lost a loved one find comfort in a loving God.

Oh Robyn I do not watch the news and I think they put to much on there. It only makes things worse and to find out in their haste they reported wrong information shows they have no idea they just want the audience.
I am heading over to check out the two sites you listed.
Thank you and I will be silent tomorrow which is not hard because this is all that is on my mind I can not think of anything else. A very very sad thing. Hug B
