Like many of you I am saddened and disturbed by this latest event. I think it’s important to realize that the individuals that commit these types of horrific crimes are few and far between. Our news media plays a huge part in glorifying these people and the terrible acts they carry out. I often wonder if these criminals would not cause such tragedy if the American public were not glued to the television.
Let’s focus on the stories of the victims, the teachers who protected their students, the people who helped get children to safety and the professionals that will help the surviving school children deal with this experience.
I also believe that people kill people and guns are a tool to carry out their plan. Most gun owners are responsible law-abiding people. Those that want to hurt others will do so and get the materials they need no matter what the law says.
