Howdy, I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas!
My adventure started last Wednesday as Little Dog (a/k/a Molly) and I headed south to Nebraska. We drove on slick snow packed roads for over 100 miles; once we hit the interstate all was dry and good.
Thursday Mom and I headed to Iowa to see my Sister. It was an all girls visit as brother-in-law K was on a trip. The three of us talked until our throats were hoarse, laughed until we cried and shopped till we dropped! Somehow we managed to get all the sheep chores done too!
The biggest drama of the trip was our dogs. Sister has a Dachshund, Penny. Molly and Penny love to play, but don’t ask them to share toys. Sister also has a Spanish Mastiff guard dog, Sweetie. I was a little nervous at first, but Sweetie plays well with my Boston Terrier.
Saturday K came home. He gave us a tour of his classroom and greenhouse before Mom and I headed back to Nebraska. K is an Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor. Check back later this week to see what K and his students are growing in the greenhouse.
Sunday we celebrated Christmas with Dad’s side of the family. It was really fun to catch up with relatives I haven’t seen for awhile. Sunday evening one of my best friends came to see me! We had an awesome visit.
Monday morning Molly and I packed up and headed north. The first couple of hours were a little long for me. Some of the food my partner ate over the weekend caught up with her. At least the cold crisp air coming in the window helped wake me up!
When I got home J helped me unpack then we exchanged gifts. I must have been a very good girl this year as Santa treated me quite well!
I am very grateful that I had the opportunity to spend time with my family and travel safely. It is always nice to take a trip to refresh and clear my mind. 1,544 miles was the odometer reading when I pulled in the yard Tuesday afternoon. So many miles and so much time to think. I am glad I had Mom to talk to part of those miles. I am ready for the New Year and am excited for all 2012 has to offer.
Check back for more pictures from my trip!
